Walter von Hippel (27 May 1897 – 29 November 1972) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Luftwaffe during World War II who commanded several Flak Divisions. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.
